MultiScreen platform overview
B-MultiScreen is end-to-end solution that allows service providers to efficiently deliver video content to multiple screens. It delivers a unique viewing experience to iPhone, iPad, Android and PC users. The Solution uses a modular, scalable architecture that can be easily integrated in to existing network environments.
B-MultiScreen solution can be positioned as a natural extension of existing IPTV offerings, targeting customers through innovative and interactive viewing experiences.

Solution scope and architecture:
Scope of B-MultiScreen solution encompasses complete list of infrastructure building blocks needed to make end-to-end over OTT video content delivery platform that can be delivered as complete stand alone system or can be integrated with existing IPTV infrastructure.
B-SoftCoder (BSC)
BSC is a flexible and cost effective universal software based media transcoder. It integrates H.264/MPEG-4 AVC codec into powerful an all-in-one transcoding solution. BSC is covering most transcoding applications, including transcoding for OTT IPTV concept on STBs, PC clients and mobile devices. BSC has intuitive and easy to use Web GUI where rich set of adjustable parameters are provided, which makes transcoding as simple as possible.

B-MediaServer (BMS)
BMS is a media server for streaming H.264 video content to any screen from mobile devices to desktop PCs. It enables unified streaming on numerous popular media platforms such like:
- Apple iOS: iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch
- Adobe Flash
- Microsoft Silverlight
- Apple QuickTime
- STB with HLS support
BMS is high performance multi-threaded H.264 media servers that delivers up to 5Gbps of per-server streaming capacity for on-demand and live streaming (actual throughput depends on chosen hardware components).
As a main feature, BMS supports many streaming protocols, including:
- Real-Time Messaging Protocol (RTMP)
- Microsoft Smooth Streaming
- Apple HTTP Live Streaming
- Real-Time Streaming Protocol (RTSP)
- Real-time Transport Protocol (RTP)

BMS provides several levels of protection to help guard video content against various threats. For Flash it implements content URL protection, domain verification and link encryption (RTMPS, RTMPE, RTMPTE). In addition, SecureToken methodology provides high level of content protection against spoofing threats like those that may be posed by various streaming media interceptors. Additionally, AES-128 encryption is available for streaming to the iOS devices (iPhone, iPad, iPod). Moreover, BMS can be integrated with industry leading DRM platforms like Verimatrix, but it is also important that whole concept is harmonized with player application at client side (PC, mobile device etc.).
High Availability
All BSC and BMS servers may be installed in High Availability N+1 redundant architecture which guarantees required availability rate.
Stream Access Security
Because BMS streaming server is available on public network (Internet), it must implement additional security mechanisms to allow authorized clients to access requested video streams.
This functionality is achieved through BMS integration with mobile/web middleware or client applications. Technical details are available per project basis.
